Three men plead guilty to vandalizing cemetery

Three young men pleaded guilty Monday to vandalizing Notre Dame cemetery on Montreal road last spring.
Jordan Hunter, Dominic Derochers both 19 and 20 year old James Wills admitted they got drunk and high in the cemetery on April 30th and proceeded to knock over thirty headstones that cemetery staff were able to put back up. Another nine were broken or chipped.
They pleaded guilty to a single count of mischief and were ordered to each pay 807 dollars to cover the cost of repairs.
Hunter told the court it was a foolish and thoughtless act. He said he was going through a difficult time, dealing with the loss of his mother and grandfather within four months of each other, and apologized.
