Former Senator and MP nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

One of Canada’s leading advocates for nuclear disarmament has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
    Former Senator and M-P Doug Roche has been nominated by the International Peace Bureau, a disarmament organization that won a Nobel Peace Prize itself in 1910.
    Roche has served as Canada’s ambassador for disarmament and has chaired the U-N Disarmament Committee.
    The Peace Bureau says it’s hard to think of a single individual who has worked as hard for disarmament as Roche has at the top levels of world politics.
