Lapse in airport security lets fireworks on flight

An Ottawa man was shocked to discover he had boarded an Air Canada flight from Ottawa to Thunder Bay with fireworks in his carry-on and hadn’t even been stopped by security.
Mark Bennett tells The Sun the fireworks had been in the bottom of his bag for months after using them on Victoria Day. He had forgotten they were there when he boarded the plane Jan.29.
He made it undetected through two security checkpoints since the flight included a stopover in Toronto.
The Canadian Air Transit Security Authority isn’t commenting…it says they want Bennett to contact them with pertinent information so they can launch an investigation.
