No SuperEX for 2011

It looks like you will have to wait until 2012 to enjoy a long-time Ottawa tradition.
SuperEX has been officially been suspended for 2011.
The president of the Central Canada Exhibition Board Mark Lamoureux told 1310news after a board meeting last Thursday it was decided to suspend the event for a number of reasons.
These include the redevelopment of Lansdowne Park and the cost of operating at a temporary location.
Lamoureux says infrastructure won’t be in place on their land in the south end in time for the fair to go ahead this August but they are committed to having it ready for 2012.
Concerned Ottawans however, told 1310News they’re still concerned that it may never return.
With the exception of both world wars, this will mark the first time since 1888 that the SuperEX won’t be held in Ottawa.
