Sexual offender back in prison

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A man who spent time in jail for drugging young aboriginal women before sexually assaulting them has pled guilty to trafficking cocaine.
Martin Tremblay was convicted for the sex offences back in 2003. He’s one of 11 people who’ve recently been picked up for aggressive drug dealing in the Downtown Eastside under the VPD’s new Sister Watch program.
Asia Czapska with Justice for Girls is relieved he’s behind bars. “He’s definitely a very dangerous person. We’re pleased that he’s in custody and hoping the police will fully investigate the violence he’s done and charged for the violence that he has inflicted on girls,” she says.
Just last year a girl died of an overdose in his Richmond home, but he wasn’t charged in her death.
Czapska says the file is far from closed on Tremblay. “We’re letting girls know that he is in custody, and that this is the time to come forward if you have evidence of anything that he has done. A lot of young women have already done that.”
He’s been sentenced to 11 months in prison.
