Another OC Transpo bus driver has ended up unwittingly starring in a YouTube video. This time not for texting while driving, but for verbally sparring with some passengers.
It happened Monday morning on the 96 when a few people, including a man in his 20s, who had just smoked a cigarette, climbed on board. A witness told the Ottawa Sun the driver began berating the man for smelling of smoke. The man apologized, but the woman said the driver continued his tirade against the passenger and that’s when she stepped in. After she threatened to file a complaint, the driver asked the woman why she couldn’t mind her own business and went on to tell her he’s paid to drive her, not listen to her.
The chair of the transit commission, Diane Deans, said she was glad to hear the woman say she was going to lodge a formal complaint. She said the incident obviously has to be investigated.
