Mayor declares “Heritage Day”

Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson proclaimed February 22 “Heritage Day” in Ottawa by recognizing the Friends of Dundonald Park for their stewardship of one of the oldest public parks in the city.

The theme of Heritage Day 2011 is Historic Parks and Landscapes.

Mayor Watson used the opportunity to announce heritage activities that will take place throughout the year in Ottawa including the opening of the city’s new archives building, the 10th anniversary of Doors Open Ottawa on June 4 and 5 and the 35th anniversary of Cumberland Heritage Village Museum.
