Provincial government encourages “staycations”

March break will be here before we know it and if a tropical vacation is nog in the budget, dont worry. There’s plenty to do right here at home.
In fact, the provincial government is encouraging us to “staycation” this year.
From museums, to hiking in Gatineau park, staying in town for your March break can be more fun than you think.
Jantine Van Kregten with Ottawa Tourism says whatever you do, just keep vacation in mind.
“Try to take your mind off the day to day concerns just as if you were on vacation somewhere else,” she says, adding you can’t do anything about household chores when you are away so don’t obsess about them if you stay here.
Van Kregten says exploring different neighbourhoods can also be fun, from Chinatown to Orleans, there’s always something new to see.
