Accident leads to evacuation in Smiths Falls

Several people were evacuated in Smiths Falls Tuesday after a car jumped a curb and hit a gas main.

Police and fire units shut down Beckwith Street between Main and Chambers for about 45 minutes.

Repairs are being done to the main. It serves about 7 customers on the block including a restaurant.
