Liberal MP Justin Trudeau is turning to Twitter to defend himself after comments about honour killings.
Trudeau has been under a lot of criticism since saying he is uncomfortable with the term ‘barbaric’ being used to describe the killings in the new citizenship study guide released yesterday.
He tried to clear the air saying he only has problems with the tone of the word being used and doesn’t condone any violence.
He still faced questions and criticism from tweeters and that’s when the Prime Ministers office got involved.
The Prime Minister’s director of communications tweeted that Trudeau should do the right thing and apologize to victims of honour killings and their families.
Trudeau finished the Twitter conversation by saying he agrees honour killings are barbaric and if his concerns about language led some to think otherwise, then he gladly apologizes.
