Some New Edinburgh businesses re-open after fire

While crews continue to sift through and clean up the rubble of Wednesday’s fire in New Edinburgh, some businesses are back open for the first time since the fire destroyed the Home Hardware and a good part of the block.

The Bread and Roses Bakery is one of the shops open for business, with signs up on the door thanking customers for their support.

Owner Chris Green calls the fire extremely disheartening, and hopes he and his neighbouring friends and business owners can pick up the pieces.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
