Spring arrives tonight; spring weather does not

OTTAWA – The Spring season is set to arrive on Sunday at 7:21 p.m. and while some are ready to ditch the winter gear, Mother Nature is saying, not so fast!

1310News meteorologist Harold Hosein says you may want to hold off for a little while before dusting off your patio set.

“An Alberta clipper is moving down from the Lake Superior area and it’ll cut a path of snow, giving about 5 to 10 centimetres in many areas — including the Ottawa Valley,” Hosein explained.  “Watch out for very slippery driving conditions as you’re heading into work (Monday morning).”

Hosein says we will not be seeing double-digit temperatures for at least another week.

The rest of this week’s weather is looking a little more spring-like, with lots of sunshine and daytime highs above zero.
