Victim of west end fire identified

Friends and family of 63-year-old Ole Hanson are calling him a wonderful man who did what he could and died doing it.

Hanson is believed to have been the man killed in a west end fire Friday morning.

An elevator mechanic by trade, Hanson is said to have awaken his sleeping 22-year-old girlfriend, Cassandra Lamoreux, who jumped from a second-storey window, saving herself but breaking her ankle and suffering other injuries in the process.

Hanson’s sister, Eva Bourguignon and her 11-year-old daughter Savanah, lived in a basement suite in the home and managed to escape unharmed.
