Election sign recycling program on tap for Toronto

Toronto trash officials say they have a program in place to ensure that all election signs are recycled after Monday’s vote.
Six drop-off locations will accept the three main types of signs — corrugated plastic, paperboard, and plastic film — until May 24.
And there will be no fee to drop off the signs for recycling — providing they are properly separated.
Solid Waste Management general manager Geoff Rathbone says the goal is to divert as much waste as possible from landfill.
It’s still unclear whether Ottawa will have a similar program to handle all the election signs posted throughout the city.
