Rain barrels are flying off the shelves in Barrhaven.
After an outdoor water ban was placed on the community last week because of a watermain break, retailers like Ross’s Independent have seen a steady stream of barrels heading out the door.
Independent owner Ken Ross tells the Sun within 22 minutes of unloading the barrels from the delivery truck, 495 were already sold.
There are a number of Ottawa non-profit groups hosting truckload sales next weekend, selling the barrels at 55 dollars each.
