Survey by Ensight Canada sees shift in Canadian’s attitudes

The political earth did not permanently shift in Canada in Monday night’s federal election according to a survey by Ensight Canada.
Within a day of the Tories winning a majority and the New Democrats moving into official opposition, the organization is sensing a shift in Canadian’s attitudes.
Both of the big winners on Monday night would be advised not to stray outside their boundaries according to Jamie Watt of Ensight.
He calls the election results a shift but whether it was opportunistic or fundamental is still to be seen, and it found the most important issue to voters wasn’t even discussed at the door, health care.
Watt feels it shows a chasm between political leadership and the average Canadian as the top concern wasn’t really debated during the campaign.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper may have wanted to bring it up as the survey shows Canadians have a willingness to have the talk about the possibility of private involvement, but he should also keep the Conservative ship steered toward the economy because that was what gave the Tories their mandate and there is still some fear of a “Conservative hidden agenda.”
