May long weekend almost here and forecast looks promising

OTTAWA, Ont. – Two sleeps left until the start of the first “unofficial” long weekend of the summer season.

For some, it will start even earlier with an exodus of expected after work Thursday.

Meterologist Jill Taylor told 1310News for the most part the weekend forecast looks promising.

She added we are not looking at any freezing temperatures, and in fact, things could get quite muggy.

Although Taylor said we should look out for some isolated showers and a possible thunderstorms on holiday Monday.

So despite the rain that could make an appearance in the capital — is this hampering your long weekend plans?

The overwhelming answer seems to be not at all, with some saying they plan on spending the weekend with family, rain or shine, and others saying they will just enjoy the extra day off.
