Cool, wet weather is causing headaches for Nova Scotia farmers during what should be their peak planting season.
Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture president Beth Densmore says many farmers are hoping that things dry up.
Densmore says the weather is keeping some farmers off their sodden fields, delaying planting of vegetables and grain.
The moisture is also raising fears about fungus and other moisture-related diseases in crops that are already planted.
Potato farmers have already planted almost half their crop, which is highly vulnerable to rot in wet fields.
Apple growers are also worried about possible fungus and mildew.
