Man hit by transport on Queensway

Three of four lanes on the eastbound Queensway were closed, early Friday morning, after a man was hit by a transport truck.
Incredibly, he was alert and conscious after he was struck.
Bryan told 1310News, he saw a transport truck in front of his hit the man, who he says was zig-zagging across the highway.
“There was a truck in the centre lane (that) came by me, and the person running across the highway ran right into the truck,” he said.
Bryan stopped his rig and called 911. He went over to the man, laying on the highway, and was astounded that he was able to open his eyes and speak.
‘I’ve hit deer on the highway, and they’re dead,” he told 1310News. “When I see someone run into a truck like that, at that speed…they should be dead.”
All eastbound lanes of Highway 417 were re-opened before the height of the Friday morning rush.
