Multi-million dollar fire destroys homes in West end

Eight vacant new construction homes have been destroyed as a result of a late-Friday fire in the city’s West end.

Fifty-seven fire fighters and 22 fire trucks responded to the residential fire in the 600 block of Remnor Avenue.

Damage is estimated at $2.5-million. There were no injuries reported.

Road closures are in effect at Badgeley Avenue and Remnor Avenue. Residential commuters are requested to avoid the area.
