OTTAWA – A provincial police investigation has determined no additional charges will be laid in an incident in the Ottawa police cellblock.
An Ottawa woman is suing the Ottawa police service alleging mistreatment in the cellblock following her arrest in 2008.
Stacy Bonds filed a $1.2-million lawsuit last December alleging her charter rights were infringed, leading to her being negligently and maliciously prosecuted.
Cellblock video of Bonds’ arrest released last year shows her struggling with officers and then being held on the floor with a shield as her shirt and bra are cut off.
A Special Investigations Unit probe of the incident led to a sexual assault charge against Sgt. Steven Desjourdy.
Ottawa police say the provincial police investigation found no criminal activity or misconduct with respect to other Ottawa police employees who were the focus of the probe.
