Walking to end women’s cancer

A lot of walking is being done this weekend, and all for a good cause.

950 people are participating in the 6th edition of the Shoppers Drug Mart Weekend to End Women’s Cancers.  $1.8 million has been raised for the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation this year.

Ravens’ Field at Carleton University was abuzz Saturday morning as participants gathered for opening ceremonies.  After walking about 30 kilometres, they will end up back at Ravens’ Field where a camp is set up and waiting for their tired feet.

The 60 kilometre journey will begin again tomorrow at 7 a.m., and end with closing ceremonies at 3 p.m.
