Investigators combing through Central Alberta plane crash

BASHAW, Alta. – Crash investigators are spending today combing through the wreckage of a plane that went down in Central Alberta, killing two men.
The victims have been identified by family as brothers Lee and Dean Sorken, who were on their way to a wedding.
Transportation Safety Board spokesman John Cottreau says the four-seater Mooney M-20 was flying from Vernon, B.C. to Killam, Alberta.
It was reported missing late Friday night.
Police say it took four hours to find the wreckage in a farmer’s field near the community of Bashaw, northeast of Red Deer.
The plane was burrowed into the ground, so heavy equipment was needed to excavate the crash site for the bodies to be recovered.
Cottreau says the wreckage will be brought to Edmonton for further inspection.
