Rome suspended four games for hit on Horton

The NHL has suspended Vancouver defenceman Aaron Rome four games for his late, blind-side hit on Boston forward Nathan Horton.

Horton was knocked out five minutes into Monday’s game three of the Stanley Cup Final.  He was released from hospital this morning, after being diagnosed with a severe concussion.

Bruins’ general manager Peter Chiarelli has announced Horton will not return to the playoffs.

Rome’s suspension could last into the beginning of next season.  The Canucks lead the Stanley Cup Final 2 games to 1 after the Bruins’ 8-1 victory Monday night.
