SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING ENDED-WATCH CONTNIUES

OTTAWA – Environment Canada has ended the Severe Thunderstorm Warning but the Severe Thunderstorm Watch continues for Ottawa.

This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail, damaging winds or heavy rainfall..Monitor weather conditions and listen for updated bulletins.
At 5.20 PM radar shows the line of severe thunderstorms from Eastern Lake Ontario to the Brockville area is weakening. However a cluster of thunderstorms developed near the Ottawa area is still going strong and moving southeastward at about 60 km/h. These thunderstorms are capable of producing hail up to golf ball size, wind gusts to 120 km/h and torrential downpours up to 50 mm in half an hour.
Another area of thunderstorms have developed over Lake Huron and is moving northeastward giving the potential for severe thunderstorms over the grey Bruce area in the next 2 to 3 hours.
