Air Canada workers issue strike notice

TORONTO (NEWS1130) – Unionized customer service and sales staff with Air Canada have issued 72-hour strike notice. And that means 3,800 workers could walk off the job first thing Tuesday morning.
According to Jamie Ross with the Canadian Auto Workers both sides are hoping to hammer out a deal before the deadline. She says talks are ongoing throughout the weekend.
Angela Mah with Air Canada says despite what’s going on behind closed doors, it continues to be business as usual for customers and they don’t need to change their travel plans.
The union says one of the major issues they’re struggling with is pension cuts.
