With the heat pouring down and more than 300,000 people on Parliament Hill for Canada Day, paramedics were kept busy.
By 8 p.m. Friday night, they assessed and treated 159 people.
The temperature soared to 28 degrees, and the calls included dehydration, heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
One person suffered a heart attack, but there were no other serious injuries.
The good news is despite the large crowd, police weren’t kept too busy.
Officers made 10 arrests in connection with Canada Day festivities, four were for assault and breach while six were for non-criminal offences.
