Fire crews battle blaze off Highway 7

Ottawa fire crews have been battling a blaze at 24 Carlisle Circle just off Highway 7, west of the Canadian Golf and Country Club.
Ottawa Fire’s Marc Messier says when crews arrived at the scene, smoke was streaming out of the windows.
“When crews arrived they had heavy smoke in the main floor of the house,” Messier tells 1310News. “They did manage to make into into the basement, where the fire started. However before they were able to get it under control in the basement, it flashed onto the main floor and it spread into the attic.”
Messier says crews took a defensive approach on the blaze, and are now searching for hot spots at the scene. No one was hurt in the fire, but the interior of the home was completely gutted. Damage estimates are near $475,000.
