Tambellini signs in Switzerland

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Winger Jeff Tambellini will play hockey overseas this fall. The former Canuck became an unrestricted free agent on July 1st. Tambellini, the son of former Canuck and current Edmonton Oilers general manager Steve signed as an unrestricted free agent last summer.

He recorded nine goals and eight assists in 62 games for the Canucks last season.

Drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, the 27-year-old broke in with the Kings but split his rookie season between the Kings and the New York Islanders where he bounced up and down between the Isles and their American Hockey League farm team in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Tambellini spent some time last year with the Canucks Manitoba Moose farm team.
