OPP cracking down on distracted drivers

The Ontario Provincial Police will be looking out for speeding drivers as well as those who are distracted as they kick off their `Phone in One Hand, Ticket in the Other, Distracted Driving Campaign” Monday.
Officers will be stopping drivers caught talking or texting on their cell phone, as well as those driving carelessly because they’re changing the radio, eating or looking for something in their vehicle.
Fines range from $155 for using a cell phone to $2,000 dollars for a careless driving conviction.
Over 8,500 drivers were charged by the opp for using hand held devices last year.
