Winnipeg police are investigating what they call a suspicious fire that left four people dead and two critically injured.
Officials say the blaze began early yesterday on the front veranda of a rooming house.
They say the blaze went up the stairs, eliminating that as a possible escape route.
Officials say the rooming house passed an inspection last month, and the fire alarms were working.
