The City faces second Lansdowne Park court challenge

The City of Ottawa is being taken to court again over the redevelopment of Lansdowne Park.
A judge is still making his decision on the legal challenge from Friends of Lansdowne, a group that wants the City to hold open bidding for the project.
The group claims the City gave the job to Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group without competitive open bidding.
Now the Lansdowne Park Conservancy has filed its own court case. It is presenting a competitive bid for the project that it say meets all the policy requirements for the development and management of Lansdowne Park.
Under the City’s own rules of procurement it must seek “best value” for the taxpayer.
