Arbitrator rules on OC Transpo scheduling system

The City of Ottawa and the union that represents OC Transpo bus drivers, mechanics and dispatchers could soon be in new contract talks.

Arbitrators have approved  implementing a new scheduling system at OC Transpo and that clears the way for contract talks to resume.

Union President Garry Queale said he was happy with the decision but would not release any further details.

Mayor Jim Watson stated he’s pleased the final decision puts the dispute behind them and that it concluded a difficult round or negotiations.
