Major Bank Street intersection re-opens after 3 week closure

After a three-week closure, the intersection of Chamberlain Avenue, Bank Street, and Isabella Street re-opened, Wednesday at 9 a.m.

The intersection, which had been closed as part of the Bank Street reconstruction in the Glebe, normally would see up to 10,000 motorists a day.

The reconstruction project also slated for a change on August 8th.  The detour will temporarily shift, using Fifth and O’Conner streets instead of Holmwood Avenue.

The majority of streets crossing Bank Street are also now open; however, there are a few continued detours:

  •     Westbound traffic on Fifth Avenue is being detoured south on Bank Street until August 8.
  •     Eastbound traffic on Fifth Avenue is being detoured south on Monk Street.
  •     Pretoria Street at Bank Street is closed until August 2.
  •     Fourth Avenue is closed until approximately August 8.
  •     First Avenue is closed until approximately August 15
