The Ottawa Fire Service is heralding two passers-by for helping rescue a woman from a crash and putting out the fire that started from the accident.
In a release, Ottawa Fire says Paul Pilotte of Gatineau pulled a woman from her burning car after it was involved in a collision at Dalhousie and St. Andrew Thursday.
Another woman, Michelle White from Ottawa was driving by the scene when she saw the fire and went into a nearby shop to get a fire extinguisher to extinguish the flames. Pilotte also helped in putting the flames out and the fire department says they were completely extinguished when they arrived.
The woman involved in the crash was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to hospital.
