GEORGETOWN, Guyana – Caribbean Airlines says there were 12 Canadians aboard their flight that crashed in Guyana early this morning.

The crash caused several injuries but no deaths among the 163 people who were on board.

The airline did not say if any of the Canadians were among the injured.

The plane overshot the runway at Cheddi Jagan International Airport in rainy weather after departing from New York.

The crash left hundreds of passengers stranded and delayed dozens of flights.

About 100 people received medical attention and four were hospitalized with serious injuries.
