The violent riots in London and several other cities in England have prompted Ottawa to update its travel advisory for Britain.
The Department of Foreign Affairs urges Canadians in the affected areas to be vigilant, avoid all protests and gatherings.
The department also said Canadians should monitor local media and follow the advice of local authorities.
The advisory warns the situation remains unpredictable and the unrest could spread quickly to other areas.
