Carleton receives $1-million donation

A local philanthropist has donated $1-million dollars to Carleton University.

The money was a gift from Wes Nicol, who graduated from carleton in 1954. This is on top of another $1-million donation he made to the university last year.

The cash will help create the Nicol Entrepreneurial Institute, which will help students get internships so they can gain the experience they need to grow their own companies.

The institute will oversee the paid internships and pair students with a mentor.
