A woman has plead guilty to impaired driving in Calgary in 2009 after being convicted of impaired driving causing death in Ottawa less than two months ago.
Dominika Duris, 25, was fined $2,300 in Calgary and handed a one year driving ban.
Her license had already been suspended for five years for causing the death of Cory Lockyer, 20, back in 2004 in Ottawa. She was also sentenced to two-years less a day that she must serve in the community. The first 90 days she spent under house arrest.
Neither of the judges in the two cases could consider the other when sentencing Duris because she wasn’t actually convicted in Ottawa when she was charged by police in Calgary.
