A truck driver from British Columbia has been charged with drunk driving in Ottawa.
Police pulled the man over after receiving several calls about a tractor-trailer driving erratically on Highway 416.
Ottawa Police Constable Eric Booth said the man was clearly intoxicated when they found him driving westbound on Highway 417 near Carp Road.
“We observed the vehicle ourselves traveling all over the road, weaving from left to right of the highway,” said Booth. “We pulled the vehicle over and the driver had consumed alcohol.”
Const.Booth said he wants to thank the drivers who called the station.
“It helped us intercept the vehicle much faster than it would have been just sitting there looking for a tractor trailer driving by,” he said.
39-year-old Ravinder Parmar has been charged and will appear in court on Saturday.
