Sixth annual Fall Cleaning the Capital campaign

The City of Ottawa officially launched the sixth annual Fall Cleaning the Capital campaign Thursday.

The Fall Cleaning the Capital campaign runs from September 15 to October 15 and brings together thousands of volunteers who clean up the city.

Mayor Jim Watson encourages all residents to register a cleanup project this year and help keep the  city clean and litter free.

More than one million kilograms of litter has been collected since the campaign began.

There is still time to get involved, you can take part by registering to clean up an area in your neighbourhood. Volunteers who register their cleanup projects are eligible to win prizes donated by campaign sponsors

Registration continues until October 15.  For more information and to register, visit ottawa.ca/clean or call 3-1-1 (TTY: 613-580-2401).
