Liberals promise help for start-ups

The Ontario Liberals say they will triple the number of successful start-up companies in Ontario in the next five years through incentives that will increase private investment and drive innovation.
“What were doing here today is announcing that we are going to provide a tax credit for investors in small start-ups,” says Ottawa West-Nepean liberal incumbent, Bob Chiarelli.
Chiarelli made the announcement with fellow Toronto Centre liberal incumbent Glen Murray and Megan Cornell, the liberal candidate for Carleton-Mississippi Mills.
The trio addressed a group at Megor Communications, an Ontario based company specializing in video-conferencing.
“We welcome this initiative from Dalton McGuinty and the Ontario Liberals,” says Mike Pascoe, President and CEO of Magor Communications. “As we have seen in our own development, timely support in the early stages can result in globally successful companies that drive job creation in Ontario.”
The initiative will cost the government 410 million.
