Crown wants attempted murder charges reinstated

The crown wants to bring back attempted murder charges against an HIV-positive man who allegedly tried to infect his sexual partners.
Steven Paul Boone still faces 21 other charges, but four attempted murder charges were tossed in july when the judge ruled getting HIV is not the automatic death sentence it once was.
Crown attorney Meaghan Cunningham argued yesterday death is still a predictable consequence of contractin HIV.
Boone’s lawyer, Ian Carter, countered it was not reasonable to infer an attempt to kill. He also wants some of the other charges dropped.
Boone has been in custody since may of last year. The Sun reports the judge will issue a written decision next month.
