Pedestrian struck on Montreal Road

A 40-year-old woman was killed after she was struck by a car east of the city, Sunday.
It happened at around 7:30 p.m. on Montreal Road.
An eyewitness told the Ottawa Citizen, he was making a left onto Montreal Road from Foxview when the woman ran past his car and into the path of another car that was also turning left. The Lexus hit the woman.
Firefighters from the station across the street were the first to arrive. The woman was rushed to Montfort Hospital. However upon arrival, she was pronounced dead.
A portion of Montreal Road was closed for about six hours as police conducted an on-scene investigation.
