Explosive device found along Flewellyn Road

An explosive device found in a culvert along Flewellyn Road on Thursday prompted police to close the road down between Dwyer Hill and Munster Roads.

Ottawa police tell 1310News that a man discovered the device shortly before 11a.m. It is believed that the unit is an older commercial explosive that had been there for some time.

The Ottawa Police explosive device unit dismantled and disposed of the explosive.
