OTTAWA CENTRE:

Yasir Naqvi – Liberal
The incumbent for Ottawa Centre acts as parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Education.   Representing a diverse, urban riding he has worked to secure affordable housing, healthcare and even co-chaired the Capital Food Bank Blitz since 2005, helping raise 275,000 pounds of food.

Rob Dekker – Tories
Rob has called Ottawa Centre his home for the last four years. He lives with his partner, Liz, and has two teenage children, Emma, 19 and Nicholas, 17. He currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of Daybreak on-Profit Supportive Housing.

Anil Naidoo – NDP
Anil works with the Council of Canadians to defend human rights, reclaim public services and protect the environment. Originally from South Africa, he moved to Canada , living first in Alberta, then moving to Ottawa in 2000.
Kevin O’Donnell- Green Party
Born and raised in Ottawa, Kevin lives in Hampton Iona with his 4 year-old daughter, Olivia.  He is a senior software developer at Bell Canada and also owns a small business. He currently represents his community in in Ottawa’s Western Light Rail Transit environmental assessment.

OTTAWA WEST-NEPEAN

Bob Chiarelli – Liberal
The incumbent in Ottawa West-Nepean, Bob Chiarelli has a long history in politics, serving as the regional chair of Ottawa-Carleton and Mayor of the amalgamated city of Ottawa.   Born and raised in Ottawa’s Little Italy as the youngest of seven children, Bob earned his law degree at the University of Ottawa.  He lives with his partner Randi Hansen and has six adult children and two grandchildren.

Randall Denley – Tories
A journalist with 35 years of experience, Randall worked most recently at the Ottawa Citizen as a political columnist. He is also the author of three novels. He and his wife Linda have two adult children, Jake and Luke.

Wendy Byrne – NDP
Wendy is a former Ottawa-Carleton regional councillor for Bay Ward. A native of Ottawa, with a law degree from the University of Ottawa, Wendy has served as director of many boards, including the Council of Arts of Ottawa, the Region of Ottawa-Carleton’s Community Services committee, the Women’s Initiatives for Safer Environments, West End Legal Services and the Task Force on the Regulation of Retirement Residences.

Alex Hill – Green Party
Alex Hill, 19, is a student, activist and member of the Green Party.

OTTAWA – VANIER

Madeline Meilleur – Liberal
The incumbent for Ottawa-Vanier is a registered nurse and lawyer specializing in labour and employment law.  She is Minister of Community and Social Services and Minister Responsible for Francophone Affairs.  She began her political career on Ottawa City Council.

Fred Sherman – Tories
Fred’s public affairs and strategic communications consulting practice, SEMgroup has been based in Ottawa-Vanier for over 10 years.  He has worked in communications with the Pubic Service Commission and as Director of Communications & Legislative Affairs for the Minister of State (Multiculturalism & Status of Women). Fred is married and the father of one child.
Paul-Etienne Laliberte-Tipple – NDP
Paul Étienne has worked for the Canadian federal government and at Nortel Networks.  Abroad, he worked at the United Nations, the World Bank, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.

Dave Bagler- Green Party
Dave Bagler is a web developer in Ottawa who lives in Sandy Hill where he serves on the Action Sandy Hill community association and helped found the annual Sandy Hill Holiday Food Drive.  He says he believes strong local decision making is at the heart of a prosperous and sustainable community.


OTTAWA – ORLEANS

Phil McNeely – Liberal
Phil McNeely is the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care.  Born in Cumberland, he began his political career on Ottawa City Council.   He lives in Ottawa-Orleans with his wife Anna Marie.  They have three sons, two grandsons and one granddaughter.

 

Andrew Lister – Tories
Andrew is a lawyer who has worked at various Toronto and Ottawa firms for the past 20 years. Andrew studied law at McGill University and earned a Master’s Degree in Law at the London School of Economics. Andrew is the proud father of two daughters.
Douglas Mckercher- NDP
Doug was a public servant for over 20 years, working primarily with Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism.  Born in Ottawa, Doug has lived here since 1975. He is married with three children.
Tanya Gutmanis – Green Party
Tanya Gutmanis is a fourth year student at the University of Ottawa pursuing an honours degree in Political Science with a minor in Psychology.  She is an active member of the University of Ottawa Greens and is working on an Environmental Charter of Rights for the University.

OTTAWA SOUTH

Dalton McGuinty – Liberal
Dalton McGuinty is Ontario’s 24th Premier.  Born and raised in Ottawa’s Alta Vista neighbourhood, he’s one of ten children.  Before entering politcs, Dalton McGuinty practiced law in Ottawa.  He and his wife Terri were high school sweethearts.  They have been married since 1980 and have four grown children.

Jason MacDonald – Tories
Jason has  his Masters degree in communications from Wilfrid Laurier University.  Since 2009, Jason has been the Director of Communications for Carleton University.
Wali Farah – NDP
Wali emigrated from Somalia and settled in Ottawa, where he went to university and fell in love with the city. For the past 15 years he has worked at the Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization.

James Mihaychuk – Green Party
A scientist with a doctorate in Physics from the University of Toronto, James has lived in Ottawa South for the past 11 years and currently works as an analyst at Chipworks in Bells Corners.  James is married with two children.

NEPEAN – CARLETON

Don Dransfield – Liberal
Don Dransfield grew up in a military family with roots in the Ottawa Valley spanning six generations.  For the past 25 years he’s been with an industrial battery marketing firm he helped found.  Don lives in Carlsbad Springs and has one daughter, Courtney, age 24.

Lisa MacLeod – Tories
Lisa was first elected to the provincial legislature 5 years ago. The Nova Scotia native lives in Barrhaven with her husband and one daughter.

Ric Dagenais – NDP
Ric is a Director on the Board of the Shepherds of Good Hope and serves as President of the Causeway Work Centre.  Ric and his wife Jane live in Manotick. They are proud of their adult children Meghan, Martin and Morgan.

Gordon Kubanek – Green Party
A son of European immigrants, Gordon has a degree in Chemical Engineering from Queen’s University and a Master’s Degree in Engineering.  He and his wife, Carmen have three children and live on a hobby farm powered by solar panels and a geothermal heating a cooling system.

CARLETON – MISSISSIPPI MILLS

  Megan Cornell – Liberal
Megan is a 37-year-old lawyer with a large, local firm. She has represented the high-tech sector, independent business and employees. She is chair of a school board Accommodation Review Committee and has been collaborating on innovative solutions for school overcrowding.

Jack MacLaren – Tories
A resident of the area for 50 years, Jack is married with three daughters, all registered nurses. Jack studied Civil Engineering at Queen’s University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1972.  He is past president of the Ontario Landowners Association.

Liam Duff – NDP
A long-time Kanata resident, and child of a military family.
Scott Simser – Green Party
Born in Ottawa, Scott was raised in Kanata’s Beaverbrook community.  A lawyer and professional accountant, he has run his own consulting firm and law practice for the past 8 years and worked as a tax lawyer for the Federal Justice Department.  He lives in Kanata with his wife Lori and their three sons.


RENFREW – NIPISSING – PEMBROKE

John O’Leary – Liberal
John is the Senior Education Advisor to the Premier of Ontario. In this role, he is the lead advisor to the government on all issues related to the province’s public education system as well as post-secondary education.  John and his wife Leslie are big sports fans.

John Yakabuski  – Tories
John was first elected in 2003.  He is currently the Ontario PC House Leader and Opposition Critic for Energy.  John and his wife Vicky have four children and four grandchildren.

Brian Dougherty – NDP
Brian worked for 10 years as a Child and Youth Worker, and now he works as an Eco Evaluator, working with people to make their homes cost-effective, energy-efficient and healthier for the environment. Brian lives in Arnprior with his wife Kim and their two daughters, Samantha and Sydney.

Kyle Jones – Green Party
Kyle is a Practical Nursing graduate of St. Lawrence College and is currently working towards a  Bachelor’s Degree in Allied Health Sciences at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.

LANARK – FRONTENAC – LENNOX – ADDINGTON

Bill MacDonald – Liberal
A life-long resident in his riding, Bill MacDonald owns a logging and forest management company in Sharbot Lake.  He grew up in a family of eight children on a farm in Frontenac County.  He lives in Sharbot Lake with his wife, Sharon.

Randy Hillier – Tories
Randy currently serves as the Ontario’s PC critic for Labour and Northern Development, Mines and  Forestry. Randy lives near Perth with his wife Jane, and has four grown children; Russell, Chelsea, Dillon and Clayton.

David Parkhill – NDP
Dave has worked as paramedic in the riding for over 21 years, and previously as a production operator with G.M. Canada and a senior computer operator at Control Data Canada.

Nancy Matte – Green Party
Nancy Matte has lived in Beckwith for 3 years and is an active volunteer and mother of three.  For the past 10 years she has administered a computer consulting business on top of being a stay-at-home mom.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences from the University of Ottawa.

LEEDS – GRENVILLE

Ray Heffernan – Liberal
Ray served in the corporate sector, having worked as an Advertising Executive for a CHUM radio affiliate, a Regional Human Resources Manager for Startek Canada Inc., and spending 15 years with Procter & Gamble Inc.  Ray, his wife Connie and their six children live on the farm that has been in his family for over five generations. Ray was born and raised in Athens, Ontario.

Steve Clark – Tories
Steve is a former three-term Mayor of Brockville and before his election to Queen’s Park as Leeds-Grenville MPP, Steve was the Chief Administrative Officer for the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands.

David Lundy – NDP
For twenty years,  David worked with the Rideau Regional Centre in Smiths Falls, serving Ontario  residents in need of counselling and support. He went on to found a successful retail business and today David works in the public sector. He is a vice-president of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union.

Charlie Taylor – Green Party
Charlie graduated from the journalism program at Carleton University with highest honours. Charlie was born and raised in eastern Ontario. He spent 11 years abroad but returned home four years ago and is currently working as an editor. He speaks English, German and French.

GLENGARRY – PRESCOTT – RUSSELL

  Grant Crack – Liberal
Grant and his family have lived in Alexandria since 1973 and he was first elected as Mayor of  Alexandria in 1994. Grant has two children: Chloe, 24 years old and Calvin, 19 years old and a grandson, Alexi, 3 years old. Grant lives just outside Alexandria with his spouse Kelly and her daughter Leah who is 7 years old.
Marilissa Gosselin – Tories
Marilissa is a bilingual Certified Management Accountant.  She graduated from the Université du Québec en Outaouais in Finance in 2002, Marilissa earned her Certified Management Accounting designation in 2006.  She worked for an accounting firm in Orleans, and for the Federation of Canadian Municipalities before joining Waste Management in 2005.
Bonnie Jean-Louis – NDP
Bonnie is a lifelong resident of Hawkesbury. is a photographer, environmentalist and devoted  mother.
Taylor Howarth – Green Party
Taylor was born and raised in the GTA, but has called Ottawa home for the past five years. Howarth  has been inspired to run for MPP in Glengarry-Prescott-Russell because she is believes the Green Party is the only party truly concerned with developing a sustainable, community-based society.

STORMONT – DUNDAS – SOUTH GLENGARRY

Mark A. MacDonald – Liberal
Mark MacDonald is a retired fire inspector, active volunteer, and loving father and grandfather. A lifelong resident of the area and former City Councillor in Cornwall.

Jim McDonell – Tories
Jim studied Mechanical Engineering at Queen’s University and went on to work 32 years in Telecommunications at Bell Canada.  He has been the Mayor of South Glengarry for the past 8 years and prior to that was a councillor in the townships of South Glengarry and Charlottenburgh.
Elaine MacDonald – NDP
After a career in teaching Elaine became a city councillor in Cornwall and president of the Cornwall and District Labour Council. Elaine works to promote sustainability of our community from an economic, environmental and social perspective.  Elaine lives in Cornwall, Ontario with her partner David Denneny.
Justin Reist – Green Party
Justin is in his third year Carleton University, pursuing a Honours degree in Political Science with a minor in Communications.
