Funeral service for Earl McRae announced

OTTAWA – The funeral service has been set for Earl McRae, while the Ottawa Senators pay tribute to the man Tuesday night.

The longtime columnist for the Ottawa Sun died last Saturday night at work at the age of 69.

The funeral is at 10:30 Saturday morning at St. Augustine Parish at 1060 Baseline Road.

Visitation will be Friday at Pinecrest Remembrance Cemetery at 2500 Baseline Rd. from 2 to 4 in the afternoon and again between 7 to 9 Friday night.

The Ottawa Senators will pay tribute to the late sports writer as well with a tribute on the scoreboard screen during the first period of the game Tuesday night with the Philadelphia Flyers.
