Two more C. difficile cases at CHEO

CHEO is reporting another two cases of C. difficile at the hospital.
Hospital officials confirm to 1310News that while one of the original three cases has been discharged, a new patient was diagnosed with C. difficile Sunday.
Another patient returning for a follow-up was diagnosed with the potentially deadly infection yesterday, bringing the total to four.
CHEO is enforcing strict visitor restrictions to the ward where the four patients remain in isolation, only allowing two parents or caregivers to visit each child until the outbreak is over.
CHEO was inspected by Ottawa Public Health last week, with the agency finding that all necessary steps are being taken to prevent the infection from spreading.
