Officer charged with drunk driving released on bail

A Sûreté du Québec officer, charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm has been released from jail.
The man appeared in court Monday afternoon, where he was granted bail on the condition he does not drink or get behind the wheel of a vehicle.
The officer, who cannot be named, spent the weekend in custody, after he was arrested Thursday, following a collision on Highway 50.
According to Sûreté du Québec, the officer was driving an unmarked police cruiser when it swerved into the next lane and hit a woman’s car.
She was taken to hospital in serious, but stable condition.
The officer is next set to appear in Gatineau court January 12th.
