After more than two decades, a Vincent Van Gogh exhibition is coming to Canada.
The National Gallery of Canada will show Van Gogh: Up Close from May 25th to September 3rd. It will feature some 45 paintings from private and public collections around the world.
“I am sure it is going to be popular, Van Gogh is one of the most beloved artists of all time,” says Mark Meyer, director of the NGC. “But what we are proud of is that it will also have original scholarship. It”s a new perspective, a new approach, a new understanding of what made him tick and what was fascinating to him.”
The exhibit will explore Van Gogh’s approach to nature through his innovative use of the close-up view.
